The preservation of former Sweetwater restaurant is looking promising.

Sweetwater Restaurant and historic plaque

When John Holland’s Old Growth LLC recently bought the former Sweetwater restaurant on King Street in Jackson, Wyoming, Katherin Wonson, chairwoman of the Teton County Historic Preservation Board, and the board, expressed relief: while this reknown building - along with two others, is eligible for the National Register of Historic Places, nothing protects them from being torn down.

DMA's architect Kurt Dubbe, our historic preservationist, has joined Holland's team to oversee the renovation and preservation of this iconic log cabin. It will involve, amongst other phases, taking the cabin apart and cataloging the logs so that the cabin can be rebuilt as it was but according to code standards, and as as strong, stable structure that will last many more decades.

This project has now been completed and you can read all about it on this webpage on our website.
